# Crumb > Crumb is a food diary that your AI assistant keeps for you. You snap a photo of your plate or describe what you ate, and ChatGPT (or Claude, or any MCP-compatible assistant) estimates the dish, portions, calories, protein, carbs and fat and saves it to Crumb. Crumb stores your meals, meal plans, shopping lists and taste profile and shows them in a calm iPhone app and a web diary. Crumb has no AI of its own and makes no model calls: the thinking happens in your assistant, Crumb remembers. Crumb is for people who want a food diary without typing: they talk to their AI assistant and snap photos; Crumb keeps the structured record. Free during the private beta.
